Green Mountain Harley-Davidson® with Northwest Technical Center
THE CUSTOM KING
One of the great things about motorcycle families is how traditions get passed through the generations. Green Mountain H-D® Battle of the Kings Crew Chief Roscoe Allen grew up around Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. The times he spent hanging around his uncle and his friends wrenching on their bikes was an experience that influences him to this day. And drives him to pass his passion to his own 5-year-old son.
“I've been teaching my son about Harley-Davidson® motorcycles his whole life,” Roscoe says. “He works with me in the shop, and those are really special moments for us. My wife rides her own bike, too, so we're a motorcycle family.”
In a different way, he also considers his Battle of the Kings team part of his family. Like Keith Champine, a Harley-Davidson technician with more than 25 years of experience, who has an “amazing ability to see issues before they happen,” Roscoe says. Or Bruce DeGuise, whom Roscoe describes as “a natural teacher” with a real knack for working with the students helping with the build.
Roscoe is particularly proud of crew member Marisa Storto. A decorated motocross racer, Marisa joined the Green Mountain team as an apprentice technician while still in high school. After graduating, she went on to finish in the top of her class at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. She has since returned to the dealership as a full-time technician in the service department – and an integral part of the Battle of the Kings team.
“We chose Marisa to be on the build team because of her unique ability to design and see those designs through to fruition,” Roscoe says. “She has a great eye for detail, which makes her a perfect fit and a real asset for the team.”
Just the kind of experience that’s bound to have an effect for years – and generations – to come.
