Warr’s Harley-Davidson (King’s Road)
Custom King: Warr’s – King’s Road
The man behind the design and build schedule of project “M8 Chop” is no other than John Warr, Managing Director of Warr’s. John is no stranger to custom work having designed countless show winners over the last 30 years. Warr’s Charlie Stockwell – two time BOTK winner – was more than happy for John to lead this year’s challenge due to existing commissions and time away in Japan where Warr’s picked up a ‘Best in Show’ at the famous ‘Mooneyes' Tokyo Custom Bike Show.
“We are absolutely snowed under with custom work,” said John Warr. “Our order book is full. But then you’d expect this because Harley-Davidson motorcycles have and always will be the prime basis for personal customisation. The latest range of Milwaukee-Eight-powered Softails is no different and this is clear to see with our entry for this year’s competition.”
The decision to use the all-new Street Bob as the donor machine was quite easy, according to John Warr. As a brand new machine, John wanted to see what Harley roots the new model could cover. The result? A barebones bike of the classic chopper style; a homage to the mid-70s Shovelhead long-fork choppers but with the twist of being usable because it hasn’t lost its everyday functionality. A true ‘Dark Custom’ 21st Century Chopper.
